      Aika Nanao is a journalist, columnist, author, and television personality.  She currently works as the general assignment reporter of the Nippon Television nightly news show &quot;News Zero.&quot;  The program is broadcasted nation-wide.  Aika Nanao is always on location and reports live for breaking news stories.  
She has covered six-party talks in Beijing, the realities of DPRK, Summits, as well as economic/business stories.  She also has an extensive experience in covering natural disasters.  Extremely talented in ENG/SNG skills, delivering adlib reports, with to-the-point expressions upon breaking news. 

Aika Nanao is also a skilled narrator, with deep and clear velvety voice.  She has done numerous voice-overs for TV ads and programs.
  
Aika Nanao has an international background, born in the U.S., having raised around the globe--Geneva, Switzerland, Seoul, Korea, Santiago, Chile, San Francisco and Washington D.C.--she speaks four languages; native in English and Japanese, fluent in French and Spanish.

Aika Nanao is also a prolific author/columnist.  She has published a number of academic papers on various publications in Japan on Japanese animation, comic books, music, and movies.  Along with her academic writing, she has also worked extensively as a freelance writer for  commercial magazines, and contributes regularly as a columnist.  

After graduating from Convent of the Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco, she entered the University of Tokyo and acquired B.A. in Media Studies and Cultural Studies.
She spent a year in Latin America, as an exchange student in Universidad Catolica de Chile, in Santiago, Chile.

After graduation from the University of Tokyo, she began working as a presenter for the breakfast radio show of Tokyo FM broadcasted nation-wide.  She was the first woman in her 20s to host a breakfast radio show of the network key stations in Tokyo.
